Abstract
This work seeks to reflect on the importance of compliance with governance, governance, accountability and public management for the implementation of the Democratic State of Law, as provided for in the Federal Constitution of 1988. This requires good governance, the legitimacy of the state to govern, i.e. governability, as well as accountability and public management in the light of the current conformation of the Brazilian federal state. Finally, mechanisms for the implementation of good governance, governance, accountability and public management are outlined, stating that in the present conjecture of the national state the public administrator must be accountable for all his actions, which demonstrates the need for the judicialisation of public policies in order to achieve the common good.
