Abstract
Dieser article discusses the handling of libraries with media containing Rassisms, by way of example, on the basis of Franz Karl Ginzkey’s racist children’s book ‘Hatschi Bratschis Balloon’ in the Vienna libraries and the library of German, Nederlandistic and Scandinavia. The study is based on two experts: in-house interviews with representatives of the two institutions. The purpose of the article is to present the different arguments of the two libraries for the inclusion of the children’s book in the respective collections. The comparison of the arguments of both types of library – the libraries Vienna is a public library and the academic library – shows that they differ due to stockpile policies and target audiences, but sometimes face similar issues and challenges.
