Abstract
Objective. Analyse the psychometric properties of the Satisfaction Satisfaction Scale (SWLS) in the adult Ecuadorian population. Method. A confirmatory factorial analysis involving 756 Ecuadorians was carried out. Results. As on the original scale, the analysis of this investigation showed a high adjustment in the single-factor model. While men had higher levels of life satisfaction than women, the invarisation analysis showed that the factorial structure of the scale is equivalent in both sexes, making it possible to compare them. In the confidence analysis, SWLS presented adequate internal consistency (α = 0.81). Conclusion. SWLS is a useful tool for studying life satisfaction in the Ecuadorian adult population.
