Abstract
This article aims to analyse the reception of an artistic work that discusses gender themes, with emphasis on domestic violence against women, together with a group of women participating in the XIX REDOR, an international event of the North and Northeast Feminist Network of Studies and Research on Gender Relations. The study was carried out through semi-structured questionnaires and debate that took place after the presentation of the show in order to verify how the work was received by the audience of the event. As a result, we observed that pre-discursive elements were decisive and, in addition to the recognition of the importance of artistic work, the main questions were centered on the lack of political engagement of the characters and an alleged male role, the work itself and the director’s gaze.
