Open classrooms: the link between teaching, research and community linkage

Abstract

This work is the result of a collegiate reflection on our teaching practice and design within an alternative university that makes it possible to build open learning teaching relationships. We want to share how we have imagined the open classroom: a link between training, research and Community cooperation. We present the challenges of the project and our re-learning at UACM: how we understand the classroom as a space open to the community; collegiality and interdisciplinary nature of teaching and learning processes aiming at horizontality; and Community cooperation as a training strategy that helps the student to start his/her professional practice during his/her university. The last part of the text focuses on the possibilities for research and (trans) training of the urban areas we live. We are closing with a proposal to rethink the sense of university today.
