Launched in 2013 by Humanitas, the book analyses the relationship between civil religion and the state in the light of the social contract in Rousseau’s works. For that task, the author relied on extensive bibliographic reference, including, in addition to Rousseau’s most prominent works, letters addressed to various personalities, such as Voltaire and d’Alembert, who were in direct dialogue with the genebrine.
