Training and Development from the perspective of managers: a study of the food branch

Abstract

In the face of a competitive economic scenario, organisations use Treining and Development techniques (T ESDP D) to broaden people’s performance, develop skills and acquire new knowledge aimed at improving the satisfaction of their human capital and preparing them for the challenges and changes that may occur in the social and working environment. This article has sought to identify possibilities for improvements in the T CSDP D in a food organisation based on the perception of its managers. This is a qualitative and descriptive research carried out by a food company in the town of Upper Forest (Mato Grosso). The data collection tool used was the semi-structured interview applied with Human Resources (HR) managers in addition to documents provided by the company. Content analysis with thematic categorisation was used for data analysis. As a result, the need for investments in the empowerment of HR managers, leaders and mainly employees of the industrial base, was identified. On the development of leadership, there was a need to work on communication practices between leader and led to improve working relations. Consideration is therefore given to the importance of considering T -D actions in an integrated manner with Corporate Education, in order to enable employees to develop them and to take account of the organisation’s strategic and operational needs.
