Abstract
The text discusses the approximations and distances between history and literature from cultural history, from an epistemological approach to another, working with Literature as a source for history. Issues such as fiction, veracity and likelihood are discussed. It also discusses, by way of example, a possibility of focusing from the 19th century onwards on the rescue of the reasons and sensitivities that led to the construction of representations on the world. history, literature, cultural history, fiction, imaginary, representation. Abstract grounded on a Cultural History point of view, the text discusses closenesses and distances between History and Literature, shifting from this epistemological approach to another taking Literature as a source to History. Questions as fiction, veracity and verisitude are discussed. It is false to consider, as an example, the feasibility to focus the nineteenth century based on its Literature, in order to retrieve the areas and sensitivities that mastered the construction or world representations.
