Abstract
Since before the construction of the Chillenan State, elites have opted for different strategies to interpilate indigenous peoples, one of which is to focus on education. On the basis of the Bilingüe Intercultural Education Programme (PEIB), implemented as a new strategy for interpellation from the State to original peoples, it looks at the objectives that have historically been raised at school, in particular with regard to the Mapuche people. This article provides a reflection which, by constructing the state ethno-politics category of school, contributes to the complexification of the current debate on intercultural education. Even before the construction of the Chilean State, elites have been different strategies for interpelllate to Indian peoples, one of which is to focus on education. Based on Intercultural Bilingual Education Program (IBEP) implemented as a new strategy of interpellation, from the state to the Indian people, this research perspectives on the historical objectives that have been addressed to school, specifically concerned with the Mapuche people. This paper provides a reflection, along with the construction of the category of state school Ethnopolitics, which contributions to enhance the completeness of the current discussion on intercultural education.
