This article analyses the introduction of an online self-assessment system to demonstrate the competences acquired by students following the participation of a specialist in dentistry that allows the application of basic science such as histology in clinical reasoning and in dental practice. Students were more satisfied with the method and improved the ability to acquire the field-specific skills.
