Girls at home and boys to mile: the social construction of children in the mail-hua

Abstract

The aim of the study is to address, from feminist anthropology, participation children in the subsistence economy of rural husbandry households in three generations. SE proposes to proceed on the assumption that social practices, based on the sexual division of labour; which contribute to the reproduction of rural husbandry households, change faster than collective subjectivity on generic allocation of traditional roles. With the help of the ethnography and stories of some life stories, looking at changes in the activities of the girls and boys responding to the adjustments required by agricultural cri diseases, to the processes of incorporation of globalisation and the new constraints of Mexican social policy.
