Sheikh Ashraf Rebellion in Bayburt

Abstract

There have been many internal insurrections in Turkey against the Turkish Grand National Assembly during the period of the National Conflict. The uprising of the Sheikh Ashraf Rebellion, also known as the Hart Rebellion, has a very different characteristic, as the Turkish Grand National Assembly has not yet been opened on the date of the insurgency. However, in those days, the Board was attempting to dominate the situation in Anatolia after the Congress of Sivas. In such a context, Bayburt was stated in Hart to gather seven kings of the state before Sheikh Ezraf in Hart, and some say that the world was intended to rehabilitate the world and to spread Shia. It is therefore understood that there are different reasons for the outbreak of the insurgency and that these reasons need to be examined in some sense. In our work, this uprising, which is very controversial and is not clear on who they are against, will be explored. In this investigation, Mustafa Kemal's views on the matter shall be utilised by the Turkish Grand National Assembly, documents of the Ottoman Archives of the Turkish Prime Ministership and the Republic Archives of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, the statements of the newspaper Colonelrak from the important press publication at the time, and other works written on the subject of the incident one year after the incident. The impacts of the event on Bayburt and its environment will be focused on the current Bayburt person's view of the event and different from other internal insurgency.
