THE CITY’S SPACE AS AN EXPRESSION OF THE ABANDONMENT IN THE WORK OF FRANCISCO ESPINHARA

Abstract

This article examines how the pessimistic style of Francisco Espinhara is built with regard to his language relations with the contemporary world of cities. This is a study which seeks to investigate the abandonment and space as cuttings and marks of a work the expression of which stems from the dilution of the man into his infinite possibilities of loneliness and isolation in front of the impractical nature of the space in which it belongs. It should be added that that work was written in the efervescence of the Pernambuco Independent Writers Movement, which in its literary production is characterised by the sentiment of the urb in its close connection. The literature’s work takes as principles the ideas of authors who bring the mark of pessimism and niilism to support the author’s poetic language, including Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche and Arthur Schopenhauer and the theory of modern lyric Hugo Friedrich. The author is researched for an obsession in his own existence in the search for something that may love his loneliness and distress, and is committed to subjects facing lyrical poetry at the end of the 19th and early 20th century. In this sense, the views of Mikhail Bakhtin and Gaston Bacherlard are included as inputs that underpin part of our reflections regarding the voices we find in the subject and their relations with the space to which they relate.
