Abstract
Consideration was given to how the construction of masculinity is linked to social practices in the exercise of sexuality through the speech of teenage students. 20 students participated (age: 14 and 17 years), public school (indoor – São Paulo). Methodological procedures have been chosen: 1) an opening meeting to present small cuttings of the ‘Throny’ film, discussion on masculinity (expressions of sexuality) and questionnaire; 2) selection of students with the highest number of affirmative answers (gênero) and tabulation of data (questionnaire); (3) non-standardised online interview. The data obtained were subjected to Content Analysis (Bardin). The analytical basis of the discussions supported the theory of social representations and the recent review of specialised literature. In the results, the categories were identified: gentle papers; welcomes corpo-sexuality and relationships as expressions of the social representations of study participants, linked to the meanings that permeate the notions of masculinity and the possible impacts on sexuality experience. This study therefore considers that, after the analyses have been carried out, the need to better target policies to focus on sexuality education in schools has become apparent from the reception of events arising in the context of the life paths of middle school students.
