Curricular environmentalisation designs: the challenge of systemic thinking

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to present concepts on the environmental curriculum of managers and teachers who are coordinators of graduation courses at a community university in the interior of Santa Catarina. The methodological approach to this study was characterised by the quantitative/qualitative focus that articulated participating research and action (THIOLLENT, 2008; HAGUETTE, 2003), desk analysis and content analysis techniques (BARDIN, 2008; FRANC, 2008). For desk analysis – the MAXQDA 12 software for the quantitative analysis of the Institutional Development Plans (IIPs), Pedagogical Projects for Graduation Courses (PPC) and Education Plans (PE) for courses presenting three or more Environmental Initiatives was used. Managers, course coordinators and teachers of the course subjects were interviewed and presented the above-mentioned indications. The environmental design of a group of 10 interviewees emerged from these interviews.
