Abstract
Este study presents the state of accessibility of the main pages of the websites of 16 Latin American national libraries, in order to check compliance with the web access standards established by the World Wide Web Consortium in recommendation 2.0. The evaluation was carried out using the Web Accessibility Test (TAW), a tool that allows automatic analysis of web access difficulties, based on the four principles, guidelines and 14 accessibility indicators. As a result, the websites analysed did not reach an acceptable level of accessibility, because the success rate of the accessibility criteria was 19.9 %, with only two indicators reaching values above 50 %. It is recommended that appropriate adjustments be made to solve problems that hinder the accessibility of these libraries’ homepage and to carry out regular checks on the tool used, or others that facilitate it.
