Abstract
The article deals with street art and the ways in which it shapes forms of remembrance and political agenciations in contemporary visual cultures, based on two questions: how do the expressions and aesthetics of street art make it possible to reconstruct memories and how do these artistic expressions engage forms of politics? Street art interventions in San Francisco, New York and Bogotá are analysed to answer them. The work is a step forward on the tracing of various cultural expressions and their ways of mobilising remembrance in urban settings, and is part of broader research into memories of political violence.
