Contributions from Paulo Freire’s legacy to the training of the educator

Abstract

Despite the harsh criticism of Paulo Freire in recent years, orchestrated by the (des) government in place in Brazil, there is no doubt that his works have been and are studied until the current days, contributing significantly to the training of national and international educators and educators. Indisputable contributions are also subtracted from the readings of the writings of this globally recognised pernambucan, which in 2021 would be 100 years old if I lived. On the basis of these assumptions, the primary objective of this article is to highlight the contributions made by Paulo Freire’s legacy to the training of educators and educators, based on the Pedagogy of Autonomy and Pedagogia of Oprimido, and can thus revert to the process of building human emancipation. To that end, the study offered to carry out a theoretical and bibliographic analysis of those books, supported by contributions from Freire (2010), Marini (2018) and Pavan (2011) from among other authors, concerning the subject of teaching training and the freirian work. It is clear from that research that the freirian perspective makes significant contributions to the various educational entities, since they become aware of their roles in the transformation of an antagon class society based on human exploitation.
