Abstract
The Church of Santa María la Nueva de Zamora, of Romanic origin, has proved to be a enigmatic puzle that is difficult to interpret in its constructive development. As part of a much broader programme of interventions and studies, the advances in his knowledge arising from the restoration of wall paintings located in the southern sacrifice, which is particularly sensitive because it is the combination of several stages of the Temple of the 12th, 14th and 18th centuries. Some of these elements – including several pictorial cycle scenes – were treated when discovered in the middle of the 20th century as parts of a puzzle to be reconstructed.
