Abstract
The article explores pacifist approaches to conflict resolution, within its pragmatic aspect, that is to say, from the aspect which justifies the pacifist norm on the basis of its strategic effectiveness and not the system of beliefs of actors. The article initially proposes a conceptualisation of pacifism and non-violence, seeking to highlight how these concepts interrelate and how they fall within the scope of conflict resolution. Building on this conceptual basis, the article focuses on examining pragmatic pacifist approaches, highlighting their theoretical foundations, their techniques and methods of action and the main future challenges of this research agenda.
