The purpose of this investigation is to identify the impressions and emotions generated by the photograph in humans as they are exposed to an interpretative analysis. This study looked at the photograph The FIRS Embrance de Mads Nissen 2020, the winner of the World Press Photo 2021 competition. Research is experimental, using inductive-qualitative methodology. A questionnaire was applied to citizens randomly and the observation technique was used to understand the photographic codes. By nature, we believe in the photograph and we understand that everyone, regardless of their economic, cultural and social strata without formal instruction, is able to understand and decode it correctly. The analysis of observers’ reactions concludes that the photographic event in photojournalism does not end with publication on the media pages, but engenders emotional and emotional capabilities in observers.
