CASE REPORT OF NEUROCRIPTOCOSE MS PATIENT HEBIÁTRICO HIV POSITIVE

Abstract

Objective: To describe and report a case of neurological infection in a pediatric patient with HIV positive with Cryptococcus. Case Description: WPSN, male, 15 years and 11 months, reaches hospital ward with weight loss history for 30 days and blemishes on the skin. The patient received prior HIV testing and proving positive. He was evolved in the infirmary with progressive weight loss and shock. Even without etiological result was started treatment with amphotericin B 0.8 mg / kg / day; Fluconazole, Ceftriaxone, Clarithromycin, sulfa-trimethoprim, hydrocortisone, H23 + TNF, HVT = 2116 ml. On the second day, was observed a radiological worsening in relation to admission. Tracheal intubation of the patient was made. Conducted research for Cryptococcus and shown positive. Continued antifungal treatment until the patient be transferred to Adult ICU. Comments: Combining patient characteristics, possible history of contact with transmitters and a well-made history followed by physical examination is the key to diagnosing, preventing a disease that can be fatal in immunocompromised patients.
