Abstract

Stories, as routes of understanding the human condition, have been concerned about philosophy since Aristotles. The article, based on a positive view of the narrative (Ricoeur, Rorty and MacIntyre), develops the idea that resistance to narrative in the name of reductive models of science should give an understanding that historical truth is the property of both objective knowledge and narrative knowledge. In a critical dialogue between aristolic poetics and contemporary hermential readings, discuss the relationships between narrative truth and memory; fiction and history; catarse and testimony; narrative identity and moral responsibility. Considering the possibilities of interactive and non-linear narrative of the digital age, the narrative is considered an invitation to ethical and poetic responsiveness.
