Abstract
This article explores the problem of social and political legitimacy of violence in Argentina during the 70’s, before the imposition of State Terrorism in 1976. With that purpose, as a part of a research in progress, some topics of the discourses about violence during the constitutional period, from 1973 to1976, will be examined. Four different aspects of the public and massive approach to the subject will be considered: rejection of violence; violence as a result of the opposition of two extremes; subversive violence and, finally, violence as war.
