Specialisation and hemispheric interaction: from the impasse of gender studies to the consideration of sex hormones
‘titrebSummary’/titrebThe asymmetrical nature of brain organisation for cognition continues to fascinate the public and mobilise researchers. The possibility that this asymmetry may differ between men and women, and the search for underlying factors, has recently shaken research into the role of sex...
幼兒視覺空間工作記憶與翻牌遊戲之關聯性研究 Relationship Between Visuospatial Working Memory and Concentration Game Performance in Young Children
Activational effects of exogenous steroid hormones on cognitive performance: A study of anabolic-androgenic steroids in men
Objective: Despite widespread drug testing in sports and warnings about the potential risks of using anabolic-androgenic steroids (AAS), non-medical use is prevalent among athletes, non-athletes, and disturbingly among adolescents. To date, most research has focused on the anabolic properties and sh...
Relationship between Physical Activity and Age on the Main Categories of Cognitive Processes
Many transversal studies show a positive relationship between physical activity and a large panel of cognitive functions. However, the majority of studies in this domain separately investigated categories of cognitive functions (e.g., attention, executive functions, visuospatial abilities). Studies...
Data from: Children's visuospatial memory predicts mathematics achievement through early adolescence
A previous study showed that gains in visuospatial memory from first to fifth grade predicted end-of-fifth grade mathematics but not reading achievement, controlling other factors. In this follow up study, these relations were assessed from sixth to ninth grade, inclusive (n = 145). The results show...
Spatial Intelligence and Students’ Achievement to Support Creativity on Visuospatial-Based Learning
This research intended to know how the spatial intelligence and students' achievement support the creativity of prospective student teachers. This study was conducted on the subject of plant anatomy with visuospatial-based learning. The visuospatial-based learning model used in this study is called...
Measuring the spatial-perceptive capability: The development and psychometric characteristics of the Spatial Concept Test (TAX)

A PROSPECTIVE OBSERVATIONAL STUDY OF CLINICAL OUTCOMES ASSOCIATED WITH PROFICIENCY-BASED PROGRESSION TRAINING IN EPIDURAL INSERTION FOR PATIENTS IN LABOUR
Efforts to move from time-based to outcome-based training have led to development of novel training methodologies including Proficiency-Based Progression (PBP). Recently, our group has demonstrated that PBP training based on pre-defined metrics improves, not just physician performance, but meaningfu...
Comparison of drawing pattern, organizational ability, and visuospatial memory in children with and without attention deficit hyperactivity disorder
This study compared drawing pattern, organizational ability, and visuo- spatial memory in children with and without attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Eighty male students (40 with, and 40 without ADHD, were recruited from schools in Tehran. The participants were screened and diagnosed...
Test of the drawing of the watch: New scoring criteria
The clock test is an assessment used to assess various cognitive functions, including language (verbal understanding), attention, memory, planning, reasoning, inhibition capacity and visospatial analysis in the graphic space. This test was used in this study as a simple screening tool based on a sam...
